Things for Children to do while staying at Duncrub Holidays

Quite apart from the small Play Park and tennis courts in Dunning itself, the area offers a number of entertainments for children. Perth Leisure Pool has a leisure pool with flumes, wild water whirlpool and outdoor lagoon, a small children's pool and a lap pool. Perth & Kinross Council also run a pool in Crieff. See Live Active for swimming pools and other information. Next door there's the Dewar's Centre for ice skating. Take advantage of the "Skate 'n' Swim" ticket.

Active Kids Toys and Adventure Park at Stanley, just north of Perth is the perfect place to take toddlers to teens for a day out. Indoor play area, soft play area, fort and adventure trail, and a small cafe for coffees and light meals.

Visit Noah's Ark at Glendevon Farm on the outskirts of Perth for a safe indoor play area, with separate areas for different ages of children and a cafeteria on site. It located beside the Golf Driving Range and Go-Karts. Nearby the Perth Mart Visitor Centre at East Huntingtower has a Highland Farm Life show with sheep, goats, cattle and horses and their very own Highland cow " Big Morag".

The Ceramic Experience near Crieff offers young and old the chance to create their own ceramic masterpieces. Going Pottie in Dunkeld does rather similar things.

Walk and talk with the animals at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre , set in 100 acres of beautiful Perthshire hills near Comrie. There's also a great indoor play barn, huge fun for children.

Iin Dundee, a 30-minute drive away, don't miss a trip to the Sensation Science Museum where you will find plenty of hands on options for budding young scientists. Just opposite is The SS Discovery, Scott's Antarctic ship. Between the two a great day out.

At Birnam, visit the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and learn about Beatrix's connection to Dunkeld and Birnam and the inspiration she drew from the area.

In Fife, about 40 minutes drive the Scottish Deer Centre you can meet the deer face-to-face with the experts. Falconry displays and trailer rides can be enjoyed.

Deep Sea World is a must - you will find it near North Queensferry off the last junction before crossing the Forth road bridge. And going down that direction, from South Queensferry there are regular boat trips to Inchcolm Island in the Forth -take a picnic as you'll be on the island for 2 hours (or longer), plenty of time to explore the old castle there.

Camperdown Wildlife Centre in the Country Park at Dundee (30 minutes drive) is home to Brown bears, Lynx, Scottish Wildcats, Wolves and Eagles. And in the other direction the Blair Drummond Safari & Leisure Park near Doune offers the safari experience, pets farm, performing sea lions and children's rides, adventure playground and 5-seater pedal boats.

At Ratho, near Edinburgh is the world's largest indoor climbing arena - enormous fun and challenges for the adventurous child and adult.
